Does GL-X3000 support WDS?

Use GL-X3000 as the main router, tried to setup satellite AP with other GL routers in WDS mode, and none worked. Have tried GL-X750 GL-SFT1200 GL-B3000. For all of them, I could complete the WDS mode setup wizard, and satellite AP could find and make connection to main router and turned on WDS mode. But afterwards, the satellite AP does not show up in main router's client list, and computer that connects to satellite AP could not obtain IP address.

This makes me thinking whether GL-X3000 supports WDS mode at all.

No, GL-X3000 (as well as MT3000, MT6000) does not support WDS AP mode.

So you cannot connect other routers as WDS client to it.

Update -- with the 4.7.2 firmware in GL-X3000, it can work as WDS AP now.

using GL-MT6000 as the client also with 4.7.2 firmware

The reverse also works -- MT6000 as AP and X3000 as client

Thanks for the update.

To be precise, X3000, MT3000, MT6000 work with each other in "WDS mode". They use the same driver.

While MT3000, MT6000 OP24 firmware WDS, will work with standard WDS routers, e.g. X750, X2000, B3000, AX1800, AXT1800, AR300M, A1300 etc.

Before moving to OP24 firmware, X3000 as AP, MT6000 as client, it did not work.
With OP24 firmware, X3000 / MT6000 work regardless which is AP / Client.

The op24 firmware use open source wifi driver and support standard WDS.
