E750 Frequent WAN Connection Drops "SIM Not Registered"

Issue: My LTE connection drops 8-10 /day
SIMs used: T-mobile, Simple Mobile
Duration Tested: about 2 weeks
Firmware tested: 3.105 & 3.201

Recently purchased E750 and my LTE connection drops several times a day
When connected - all good
But when d/c (SIM not registered), requires modem reset / reboot repeatedly

More Info:

  • Using 2.4 & 5.0 Wifi without guest
  • Mullvad VPN using Wireguard
  • No Adguard
  • Few LAN IP set manually
  • Server connected via LAN
  • 3-4 other devices via WLAN

Any help would be appreciated
Thank you in advance,

Ocean

Can you please check modem configuration and try

device you can try ttyUSB3 other than cdc-wdm0

protocol can try qcm

ttl change to 65

Check if apn is correct

I’ve applied the suggested setting on tmobile SIM (prepaid 50/unlimited)
Will test all day for any drop connection(s)
When notice of any drop, will try to get kernel log
Will report in 24 hours

Currently on:

  • 3.201 / fresh reset
  • Mullvad VPN via WG
  • 1 LAN Server (media server / torrent client)
  • 3 WLAN (phones/laptop)
  • Roaming disabled via AT Command

Attached: modem setting / cells info

Please note that the signal is not good. So it may be due to weak signal.

  • Total of about 5-6 disconnects

  • Tethering (easytether) works without disconnects - can rule out the signal possibility, I think

  • SO, to test a theory that the modem IMEI may not match the current t-mobile SIM,
I repaired my IMEI to match to the phone used for tethering above
Will test for 24 hours; will not count disconnects that are for less than 30 seconds
(how can I restore the original IMEI? reset modem?)

  • Couldn’t get all kernel logs but two (I read; couldn’t understand much)
Attaching the first one; will upload the second one if needed

I hope that you have recorded the old IMEI.

I have no idea how to restore the IMEI without setting it back.

  • Welp, there goes my original IMEI :joy: (Will there be any negative consequences as to use my phone’s IMEI in future?)

  • After testing for few days, still the same, about 6-8 disconnects a day - I’m going to put this issue for a side now and work on the alternative.

  • Which brings me to one of your previous posts:
    AR750S - Autoconnect - Easytether

  • I will post on the thread above now
