I have been using E8372h in tethering mode with GL-AXT1800 (fw 4.8.2) for a while at home and it's been great.
However, when I took my router on a trip I couldn't use the modem on the move as it's been constantly disconnecting as the cellular were often disconnecting and reconnecting to different towers.
I've been powering the router with 5V 3A as a power source and at home with modem it was consuming about 5.3W, so it still has around 10W to spare for any modem needs etc.
When the modem was briefly working it still was taking time to even connect to its admin UI at 192.168.8.1, which I suppose shouldn’t be the case even when cellular isn’t available to the modem.
I switched from USB3.0 to USB2.0 but it didn’t fix anything, same issue.
