EIOT eSIM issues

Router GL-iNET X3000 - two SIM cards: slot 1 - EIR /slot 2 - EIOT eSIM

Today started to have issues with activating a new eSIM profile - 100GB.

Previously had used 30GB & 50GB eSIM profiles, purchased through EIOT - eSIM was purchased at the same time as router direct from GL-iNet.

While trying to disable the suspended profile and planning to activate a new profile (100gb) all GSM services when down. When I logged into the admin account the cellular window was attempting to load

Took the following sets -

  • Reset the router - didn’t work
  • reinstalled the latest firmware
  • Factory reset the router issues- didn’t work - still have cellular screen loading
  • Eventually I got the EIR SIM (slot1) to reload and activate. (Working)
  • When I tried to add the eSIM - couldn’t active the SIMs
  • Factory reset and still wouldn’t install through setup screen - processing message with operation tine out. Eventually had to factory reset again.
  • Currently the EIR sim is in slot 2 working - EIOT eSIM not installed.
  • Chatted the EIOT support - they don’t see an issue with the eSIM and was told to seek support from GL-iNET.
  • If I insert the eSIM in slot 1 and select the eSIM management tab - it’s telling me no eSIM available - don’t want to restart in case it block the working SIM (slot2)

Eventually the eSIM activated with the new profile - hoping it was because I purchased a 100GB data package.

Not sure what resolved the issue - I powered down the router for 3 hrs while I was out. Is there an eprom in the router that needed to be cleared down as a result of the power down.

Hello,

Was the router connected to the internet when you installed the eSIM?

The previous esim installation failure may be due to the network connection. Pls make sure the router is connected to internet when installing the esim. If network connection is normal, set the DNS server to another server (e.g. google dns server) to try.
