Encrypted DNS servers list question

I replied to that thread and expressed my support for those features to be added.

There is no actual voting mechanism for feature requests right?

Yes. You should just show support your request. If many = they add

Yes, it's still in the development plan.

I don't see Free, I see Free Trial

EDIT: ah, I see, the DNS servers look as if they are free, everything else, no.

Thanks for responding!

Good to know.

I would love your help (or another dev/staff @bruce) on my original question above when and if you have time.

As j2zero mentioned, you would like to check by Google, to find which DNS service you want, like block the AD. or filter bad software, etc.
Or enable the AdGuard home, if your GL router model is supported.

They use basic server.
If you need additional functionality, you can use DoT first. it allows you to enter the nextDNS ID. also, we will integrate controlD DoT in version 4.7. you can configure its resolve ID.
Other custom configuration features will come later.

EDIT: Very cool that we can add our NextDNS ID using DoT! Will we be able to do that with DoH at some point soon? Is that planned, on the roadmap?

And thanks for confirming this. I should clarify, what I want is some information about which exact server is being used to be available/presented in the UI. Maybe with a little info i button or click for more details link or simply have the server address visible in the list. So when selecting a server I know exactly which one I am using.

I should clarify...I am aware of pretty much all the encrypted DNS providers/servers out there and have a basic understanding about how to set them up to get ad blocking etc.

What I was primarily asking for with this topic, and I should have made that more clear, was more information or any information for that matter on the exact server that is being used. I want the exact server details to be available/presented/exposed in the UI.

Maybe with a little info i button or click for more details link. So when selecting a server I know exactly which one I am using. I think those details/information should be available in the server list. Until we can add custom encrypted DNS ourselves I want to know which server I am using and don't want to have to guess or assume or have to ask which server is being used.

Like in the example below, in the empty white space on the right it could simply have a more info button or an i info button or just the server address like dns.mullvad.net

I would also love to see more encrypted/DoH servers be added to the encrypted server list (until we can just add our own manually)

Please add all the Mullvad DoH servers.

And Cloudflare's https://security.cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query, https://family.cloudflare-dns.com/dns-query

And add more NextDNS DoH servers if there are any basic/public ones not already in the list.

And add more ControlD ones, like all the free DNS ones below.

Everything there put in adguard home upstream.

You might be confuse which server side for dns. Between local server and public/private server.

Adguard Home is local dns server and upstream from wan with private dns server.

Thanks for responding.

Ideally I prefer to not have to use AGH. Just adds complexity. Ideally I want to be able to just use the GL UI. And be able to choose all these servers I mentioned from a pre-populated list or more importantly be able to manually add whatever DoH server I want.

We will support manual configuration in version 4.8, allowing users to configure any service provider they need.

I understand all of this, it's part of our plan. But it will come later than the manual setup feature.
