If it is available normally, configure the ratio of Load Balance, like Ethernet 1: Ethernet 2 is 1:1.
In this way, the router's LAN traffic will go on average by WAN 1 and WAN 2.

I think it worked with 4.6 then I put the mt6000 back upstream of a load balance edge router that I would like to eliminate and leave only the mt6000

Downgrade going from firmware 4.7.4 to 4.7 or 4.6 the router loses all settings?
"keep settings" is turn off by default for downgrade.
If you are not turn on manually, the settings will be lost.
As normal expectations, as long as both WANs are online and green, they should both be able to be balanced as links.
For simply, you can check what the Internet exit IP is through the web page on the connected client (like PC), such as ipinfo.io, ip.sb, etc.
For details, you can check the package through the router plug-in tcpdump.
