I thought I'd share my experience with my go-to router - Beryl AX - and my holiday in Barbados.
I wanted to set up as a Repeater off my hotel's wifi. I went into Luci and changed the Country Code to BB then tried to connect on 5 Ghz but the Beryl wasn't broadcasting the 5Ghz SSID, only the 2.4. The channel was set to Auto and had selected a DFS channel. I then put it on a Band 1 channel and still no go. The same with Band 2 & 2-Ext. When I picked a Band 3 channel - 149 - it worked. So setting to Auto didn't automatically find a setting that worked. What I should have done is see what channel the AP was set to first, as this was on 149. So I guess it helps to know something about the 5Ghz spectrum if heading to the Caribbean. Hope this helps someone in the future!
