I swapped out my old Comet for a Comet Pro and love the new wiring (I ditched my HDMI splitter!). And that the UI is functionally identical to the OG Comet.
However, it would be great if we could save the configuration of the old device to the cloud and reapply (most) of it to a new device. This raises some security issues around things like passwords (admin password, SSH keys, WiFi passwords, etc.) but two options are to encrypt the data using a passphrase entered in the client or to just ignore sensitive information.
The goal for the potential integrated KVM switch is to setup an admin password, then give the option to log into a GLI-owned account to clone the config of an existing device. Bonus points if you're able to bypass some unique information like a fixed IP, hostname, etc.
However, this is probably fairly trivial for most installs - for me it's setting the hostname, setting the profile to a 1080p monitor, disabling virtual media, and a handful of WoL MAC addresses. If most people just run out of the box configs it may be a big lift for minimal return.
