We released a beta firmware to test the new feature AmneziaWG in a small range, currently available for the Beryl AX/MT3000.
Warm reminder: as it is a test firmware, there may be some instability, please do not use it in the working environment.
Now you can use AmneziaWG to make your VPN connection more robust using AmneziaWG!
Please obtain the test firmware and report the issue from following thread:
You can manually export profiles with obfuscation protocols in AmneziaWG and upload them to your router manually.
If you have two Beryl AX/MT3000s (one for WG server and one for WG client), you can enable "Obfuscation" on the WG server router and generate a new profile with Obfuscation Parameters, and import to WG client router to experience this advanced feature:
I did a quick test with 4.8.0 (op24) and my amnezia-kmod module vs 4.8.2-beta3 with native support (as clients). Looks like 4.8.2-beta3 is more stable by speed comparing to 4.8.0+kmod.
I’m limited by my Egyptian dsl which is 100 MBit down and 30 MBit up. But i was able to use this completly. Will do more testing next week when back in Germany.
This is not about difference in numbers (they are mostly equal), but during tests beta3 (native support) shows more stable speed (like from 20 to 30 mb/s on my connection) while kmod version jumps from 1mb to 40 and back. Average speed, ping, jitter is the same.
I tested 4.8.2-beta3 AmneziaWG on my Beryl AX and speed-wise was very good, comparable to the AmneziaWG app I have on macOS (~380MBit/s throughput both up and down). Please if you could push a beta/snapshot for Slate AX (AXT1800) I would be glad to test it!
I used the beta version and it works well, much faster than kmod and easy to use. Also now can use my own wireguard server instead of a commercial one. I also feel more at ease with the kill switch working automatically
How secure is the killswitch. This is my main concern. I absolutely cannot have leakage. I’m considering connect my MT3000 running AWG to my AXT1800 running WG to be on the safe side while testing this beta.
