I’m trying to workaround network coverage issue after GL-iNet has weakened the signal on Flint2 and my IoT devices doen not see main router signal anymore.
I have two Flint2 devices, 2nd is connetced to LAN5>WAN with the cable. 2nd router was only broadcasting main network, but now I need also the IoT network to be broadcasted. I have managed to setup the network and devicess are connecting to it, but no IP is assigned, so they won’t have communication with Home Assistant and overall in the network.
I spent multpile hours to setups it with AI, with some manuals from WiKi , but it does not work. I think I’m going to give up and will just connect IoT devices to main network, as this is only what is correclty wroking on dumb AP.
In one of the topics somehere on internet I have read, I need to add dedicated LAN cable to the AP, and setup it to be dedicated for IoT only, as the current one that is conneted it works only for Main network ? But somehow people was able to manage with using VLANs, which I have no clue how to set it up.
Setup should be simple:
Main Router >>>LAN5>>>WAN>>>Dumb AP
Main Network: 192.168.50.1/24
IoT: 192.168.107.1/24
Oh, I forgot to add, that IoT network is working fine on Main router. All devices that has signal are connecting to Main router broadcasted IoT and Home Assistant host has access to it, as it is also in IoT network.
I just want same IoT to be broadcasted by Dumb AP, where Main router should be managing DHCP.
