Firmware V4.7.0-op24 tutorial for upgrade? flint2 gl-mt6000

Hello, i want to upgrade to firmware V4.7.0-op24, but I don't know the steps to do, step by step. Can someone tell me the correct way to update?.

P.s. I also wanted to ask, does this firmware maintain the gl-inet web ui via 192.168.8.1?

Just download the firmware here and upgrade via the Web GUI. Make sure to not keep settings, you need to fully reset the device and you can't restore a backup then.

The -op24 firmware works exactly the same like the other firmwares.

with this firmware i have GL GUI standard?

Yup.

As I said, the op24 firmware from the GL Download Center (!) works the same like all other GL firmwares.

Thanks for clarifying this. Can we also go back to the current stock firmware if needed or this is a one way trip?

You can go back to any version you like but keep in mind that you will again need to uncheck “keep settings” and configure from start.

If you use WireGuard client with domain or ip policy based routing I would recommend to not install 4.7.0-op24, it doesn’t work.

You can go backwards and forwards as many times as you want. Personally I would use UBoot.

Exactly. But as soon as you switch between op24 and normal you will need to reset your router without keeping any settings.

Thanks all for confirming. I had to ask because I didn't know if it was like some Samsung Android phones that won't let you downgrade from Android to Android -1, hence my question. I know it isn't even comparable to such devices, but you never know.

Yes I know about the settings that I cannot save. In fact I have a text file where I document my settings so that I keep the router confirmation as identical as possible

I performed the upgrade to v4.7.0-op24 and from a GUI perspective, nothing has changed with respect to my previous 4.7.4-op21.

In previous firmwares I noticed that if I update an app, then I wouldn't be able to connect to the router webpage, with op24 I performed the upgrade of some apps from the website and others from ssh using opkg and it didn't break anything fortunately.

There is no difference in various VPN settings, neither in AdGuard (the apps I use and interested in mostly). I use a WireGuard configuration of NordVPN and it works like a charm.

Good jon GL-iNet folks. Looking forward for the next generation of Wifi 7 Flint!

No, they are using the OpenSource driver - that's why it's called open

Thanks! So currently only the stable/beta versions have the MTK Drivers? And nothing for version 23 or version 24 with the same? The notice under open tab had me confused. (Previous post deleted by mistake)

Exactly. All non -op24 firmware are using the MTK driver.
