I have a Slate AX in my room that does all of my routing. It DMZ's to my reverse proxy server for public stuff, has Wireguard set up, many devices connected, and chugs along happily.
It's connected with repeater mode to the ISP provided house router in a different room. The use of a cable to connect them to each other is not possible. The ISP router had a static IP set for my bedroom router, as well as DMZ. This has been working fine for my use case.
That router likes to sometimes just randomly disconnected, and the signal is poor, so I replaced it with a Flint 2 after checking I can plug in the ethernet that comes from the wall straight in to the Flint 2. The Flint 2 is now the device connected to my bedroom Slate AX's repeater mode.
Since this change, although normal emails send, anything sent from a script will fail. Download notifications, ChangeDetection.io emails, and Uptime monitoring, and other home hosted services that send emails out with SMTP have failed.
If I connect my bedroom Slate AX to my mobile phone with repeater mode, the SMTP connections work and the services send email. As soon as the Slate AX is connected to the Flint 2, everything stops.
I can't see any reason why this is. I've looked in Luci for firewall settings, and even made a new setting to allow 25 465 and 587 ports and tried putting it at both the top and bottom of the list (and yes, I did save!), but the issue continues. There's nothing about this on Google either. There's no AP isolation on and I can't see any other settings that could impact this. The Flint 2 also doesn't have anything else setup - No adguard, no vpn, nothing, it's newly installed with just the network names configured to match what the house router was.
We noted that a static IP and DMZ were configured on the ISP router for Slate AX pervious.
May we know do you doing the something on Flint 2 after using it to replace the ISP router?
If the configurations of the ISP router and Flint 2 are the same, and you didn't change anything on Slate AX, we recommend trying the following:
2025-08-14 10:31:11,209 - DEBUG - Loaded E-Mail URL: mailtos://notifications-do-not-reply:****@(the-domain-is-here)/?pgp=no&format=html&overflow=upstream&cto=15&smtp=(the-domain-is-here)&mode=starttls

2025-08-14 10:31:26,316 - DEBUG - Socket Exception: timed out
Basically it acts like the server doesn't exist
The emails are hosted by eukhost, a UK hosting company, and I know I'm not blocked or something as if I swap the Flint to the orignal provided router, it's fine. The problems only occur with the Flint 2 being in the network.
We set up a smaller, simplified test environment but were unable to reproduce the issue.
To help us investigate further, could you please let us know which firmware versions your Flint 2 and AXT1800 are currently running?
If they are not already updated, please try upgrading them to the latest stable versions. You can find the firmware here and follow this guide to perform the upgrade.
If the issue still persists, please connect Flint 2 and AXT1800 to GoodCloud and share them with us so that we can perform a remote check. Guide: Technical Support via GoodCloud
Kindly note: please send us the MAC addresses and the Admin Panel login password of both devices via private message.
Additionally, if possible, could you create a container in Proxmox that is identical to the one where the script is running, and provide us with its username/password along with the script invocation method? This would allow us to test it under the same conditions.
