Flint 2 Firmware updates

When is the Flint 2 getting its next stable firmware and OpenWRT 24 firmware updates? It's been since mid October since anything was released while the Flint 3 and 3e have gotten several updates each..

Would really love to see another update soon with fixes and feature improvements as the Flint 2 is still the power house in hardware.

Can some information be provided for this? Thanks

It does appear to have gone very quiet on the op24 front. I thought around a month ago they were working on an update? Also I thought there was talk of snapshot op24?

I thought the same on both fronts. @Lun @admon @bruce

Can you provide us an update when you have a moment to reply regarding the next update for the flint 2 both stable and op24? We're feeling left out as the flint 3 is getting all the attention lately lol.

Same here  Waiting eagerly for a new version of OP24 maybe based on 4.8.7, same as Flint3e is using, or if not possible at least 4.8.4 and OpenWrt 24.10.5 :thought_balloon:

I apologize, but I am not employed by GL, so I am unable to give you any updates.

It had been suggested we would get a more regular op24 roll out, what’s the reason this has gone so quiet?

The op24 firmware is not our mainline release, so this series updates will be a bit slower.

We are working on adapting the op25 rc, but now we have some issues and the R&D team is still working hard on them.

Thanks @bruce . previously there was a suggestion that glinet were working on op 24/25 snapshot regular release for flint 2. Is this now not going to happen? Thanks.

Sorry, no, PM and R&D team evaluated it internally, and it is not yet ready to convert to the regular version.

Closed source is still the main line, but we will still update the firmware version of open source every once in a while.

Thank you for your understanding!

Thanks Bruce. But why were we told this was being evaluated when it hasn't? Lots of us here were waiting for an announcement which is why it’s been chased. Seems to be some serious communication breakdown somewhere.

TBH, we do meet some issues with the software.
Well, we will keep communicating, and once it's ready, we'll be the first to release it for priority preview on the forum.

Thanks Bruce for the response

To be fair, it sounds like they did evaluate and made a decision based on that evaluation. It just didn’t end up with the result you wanted.

Or rather it is delayed because of some issues integrating the newer version with their in house UI / firmware as he said.

Not that they evaluated and decided not to pursue further support for it. No need to gaslight.

You proved my point. They evaluated it and cannot move forward with the situation as it currently sits. No one is gaslighting you. Not everything is a huge conspiracy you know. Sometimes it is just the simple truth. You won’t make friends being so accusative.

Wasn't trying to make friends. And I didn't prove anything regarding your point in my reply. Delusions are a real thing.

When did I say anything was a conspiracy or hint at that? Gas lighting indeed. Your so-called truth is flawed.

Ok Sparky. Good luck.
