Flint 2 frequently disconnects, sometimes randomly

I've been using my GL.iNet Flint 2 router since December last year.
In this time, I've noticed many random disconnections.

Today, I noticed that running a speed test (via the Ookla app) on my phone almost guarantees router disconnection.
I believe the router may restart in this time, as the admin panel is unavailable for a short duration.

It's been happening on a variety of firmware versions, as I upgrade it often. Right now I'm on 4.8.0 beta3, where it still occurs.

My ISP is Vodafone (UK), and I recently switched from DSL to Fibre. The infrastructure is CityFibre's, they also installed the ONT recently. I'm using PPPoE and the speed is about 900 down & up.

The disconnects happened on both DSL and Fibre. I've also tried plugging it into different socket outlets, and it didn't help.

I've recorded a quick demonstration: https://files.catbox.moe/s9s9ig.mp4

Hello,

  1. Is the IP 10.0.0.1 router LAN?
  2. When running spedtest, the router ping is unresponsive, please observe the router LED, is there an automatic restart (shutdown -> blue fast flash > white solid)? If there is no restart, will the network be restored?
  3. Will this be the case for other speedtest clients? such as the PC speedtest APP or speedtest.net website
  4. Please re-flash the firmware in the uboot.
  1. Yes. 10.0.0.1 LAN, 10.1.0.1 Guest.
  2. Exactly. Lights immediately go off, and then start flashing blue and eventually go white again.
  3. Nope. Could not replicate on PC. Only on mobile devices, over Wi-Fi, such as my iPhone and Samsung phone.
  4. I did several times, but it didn't help. Yesterday, I flashed the "op24" firmware, and the issue has not occurred since. I forgot to update this thread as I've mainly been communicating with support over email.

I haven't experienced the issue at all since I've flashed "4.7.5-op24", I hope it stays this way.

Thanks for your update.

  1. seems the router system rebooted.
