Flint 2 has stopped working twice in 15 minutes

There is nothing connected to the USB port.

Also 95% of my router utilization is done by Ethernet, I don’t use wireless much other than iPhone/iPad which I rarely use.

I’ll work on the backup… where should I upload it to once done ?

I guess its a normal message then :+1:

I guess i tag @alzhao or @Dipin i think you can sent it to them via private or their email, they will let you know :+1:

Thanks, I contacted them.

I can repro this consistently more or less.

I basically have wireguard working in the background to a PC (via Ethernet), then I start moving some data via wireless and it crashes the router. It doesn’t matter if Network hardware acceleration is on or off, happens on both cases.

What kind of data between which devices do you move?

  • Wireguard on the Router connected to Torguard (via port forwarding), used for Plex (1-2 streams)
  • Adguard was active
  • Wireless activities (browsing) in the house but most devices are on Ethernet
  • IPv6 is active (via passthru), no IPv6 traffic
  • Ethernet 2 (by WAN) is being used as extra LAN for another device

I thought to disable Wireguard just as a test and it has not crashed so far, so it could be related to Wireguard issues on the router.

I enabled Wireguard, no crashes so far… but a ton of these on the log (what do they mean ?)

I noticed some slowness browsing regular pages (wired / wireless) then noticed these crashes in log (I did clean the page previously after I restarted Wiregard).

Note that Wireguard is only for 2 IPs in my Network (actually virtual mac addresses / IP in my Unraid for two docker containers including Plex)

I noticed in top that adguard was using 74% of VSZ (Virtual Memory?) in idle. I disabled AdGuard to see if it makes these crashes go away.

Can you also try https://fw.gl-inet.com/firmware/mt6000/tmp/mt6000-1226.bin

I updated to 4.5.5, will let you know if it crashes again.

Got the router to crash again on that firmware (blinking light) had to remove ac power and reconnect. No crash log available.

I kinda wish this router had a power on/off button.

I see a bunch of kworkers and napi/mtk_eth-# , but the load is always < 1.0

I’ll keep a top open in case I see something out of ordinary.

Quick update, no crashes so far with the latest firmware.

Though my Wireguard testing has been minimal, I suspect these crashes were because of Wireguard.

Update

I got it to crash again… basically if i use the wireguard connection too much it happens. I have a reverse connection for Plex from the outside (so people stream via the outside) I also have a few downloads happening via wireguard, so it’s being stressed. If there are ways to enable debug log for wireguard, I can enable them… I don’t see any dump files nor crash logs.

Cheers

The old logs seems a crash of the Ethernet driver.

Do you have the log from 4.5.5 crash?

Nothing in the crash logs, the router just locked up.

Unless they get written to some log files on disk ?

well, i kinda have the same Problem with mine with Wireguard as a Client connect to a Provider and Adguard Running. Random Hangups with no connection to the Router only when i unplug and replug it.

Any Solution known or cause until now?

Hey

please follow these instructions to provide more information for troubleshooting: How to get support quickly

which firmware version ? 4.5.6 has been solid for me 99% of the time.

The thing that helped is that after I upgraded to 4.5.6 from older beta, I did reset the router and entered all the info again from scratch.

from 4.5.5 to 4.5.7 Beta it appeared in everyone.
i turned off Adguard since 2 Days now, no crashes until now. im still try to find out whats the cause is.

How many lists do you use in AGH?
