Hello! My Flint 2 mt6000 reboot every 1 hour. When uptime section shows “1 hour” - it loses all connections. All reboots. No additional devices via lan is connected.
Solved.
Hard Reset and back to 4.7.7
Hi there. I seem to be having an issue with my Flint 2 that is very similar to what you experienced, except it’s more like every 20-60 minutes.
Out of curiosity, what firmware version were you on before you rolled back? Will try rolling back to 4.7.7 too since that worked for you.
Thanks.
I am trying to determine whether my Flint 2 (GL-MT6000) may have a hardware fault.
I installed the router yesterday when my full-fibre connection was activated. Since installation, the router appears to reboot spontaneously every 10–60 minutes.
Observed behaviour
When the issue occurs:
-
The network freezes briefly.
-
The router LEDs cycle as if the device is restarting.
-
Wi-Fi and Ethernet both drop.
-
The admin panel session is lost.
-
Router uptime resets to 0.
During the event, continuous pings to the router also fail.
Example:
ping 192.168.1.1 -t
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=64
The outage lasts roughly 45–60 seconds, consistent with a reboot cycle.
Firmware history
-
Initially running beta firmware
-
Rolled back to Stable 4.7.7
-
Multiple factory resets performed
-
Issue persists on the stable release
Troubleshooting steps already taken
Factory reset (multiple times)
Wireless configuration simplified:
-
WPA2-PSK only (WPA3 disabled)
-
Fast roaming (802.11r) disabled
-
Smart Connect / band steering disabled
Manual channel configuration:
-
2.4 GHz → Channel 1, 20 MHz
-
5 GHz → Channel 36, 80 MHz
Hardware acceleration tested:
-
ON
-
OFF
Issue occurs in both configurations.
Multi-WAN interface status tracking disabled.
Environment
Router: GL-MT6000 (Flint 2)
Firmware: Stable 4.7.7
WAN: PPPoE via FTTP ONT
Clients: mix of wired and wireless devices
Frequency: roughly every 10–60 minutes
The issue affects both wired and wireless connectivity simultaneously.
Log observations
Just before the event I see repeated WPA handshake failures from multiple clients:
WpaEAPOLRetryAction(): 4Way-MSG1 timeout
Send DEAUTH frame
MacTableDeleteEntry()
Recv Assoc from STA
ASSOC Send ASSOC response
Example:
4Way-MSG1 timeout with 48:e1:e9:3b:08:b9
4Way-MSG1 timeout with cc:3b:fb:e3:cc:58
4Way-MSG1 timeout with c4:db:ad:0e:59:37
In earlier logs I also noticed:
warp_probe(): probe fail since warp is full
warp_dev0: probe of 15010000.wed2 failed with error -1
ExtEventBeaconLostHandler(): AP Beacon OFF!!!
Questions
-
Are spontaneous reboots like this a known issue on the MT7986 platform or the Flint 2 firmware?
-
Could the
warp_probe/ WED errors indicate a driver issue? -
Given the behaviour on stable firmware and after factory resets, does this point toward a potential hardware fault?
I can provide full log bundles if needed.
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.
4.7.7 work flawlessly. Today update again to 4.8.3. Reboot every 1 hour
