Good morning,
I bought this fantastic Filnt 2 and I was starting to practice with various configurations.
I would kindly need some information.
I will soon connect a device to my network and now I want to try to configure a port forwarding to make the device communicate with the outside.
I write below what is written in the instruction manual of the device (the ports to open):
Internet towards device:
UDP 500
UDP 4500
TCP 22
Device towards the internet:
UDP 500
UDP 4500
UDP 123
TCP/UDP 53
TCP 443
TCP 80
Now my question is, have I correctly configured the opening of the first 3 ports towards the device? (screen in attachment)
I was also wondering, does the Flint let all outgoing traffic pass without the need to configure anything?
Or is it necessary to also configure the output of the remaining 6 ports to the internet?
Thanks in advance for the answers.
Hi Bruce, thanks for the reply and for the manual on the site.
Ok, so it is not necessary for me to open the other ports in my list that require outgoing traffic, these 3 ports that I opened should make my device work (as soon as I connect it) correctly both incoming and outgoing. Bruce, I take this opportunity for another question, I noticed that in the "System-security" section there is another section "Open Ports on Router" (see photo n.2), what is this section for? I read the manual but I did not understand well in which cases it should be used, it seems similar to the "port forwarding" section but here instead you can only put the ports without IP address.
For example, here too I have to insert the same 3 ports that I opened in port forwarding 500,4500 and 22? Thanks in advance for the reply.
