Flint 2 PPPoE through Zyxel C3000Z, who's done it?

I found this old thread where someone seemingly did what I will be trying to do:

but I wanted to ask if anyone has had the discussed configuration, and had it be stable over time.

That is, Flint 2 performing PPPoE sign-in, with Zyxel C3000Z in Transparent Bridge mode. I have CenturyLink DSL, and that is the DSL modem/router I have, but I only want it to act as a modem.

I have spent the last year struggling to do the same with a different vendor's router, and have given up. The first router was defective, and so is the second one. It won't keep a connection alive for more than a few hours, even in double-NAT mode (not performing PPPoE sign-in). So I'm looking at replacing it with a Flint 2.

FWIW: I am not looking for instructions on how to place the modem in Transparent Bridge mode, or how to set up the Flint 2 for PPPoE sign-in. Have done the former, anticipating it won't be that difficult to set up the Flint 2. I'm more looking for feedback from CenturyLink customers who have had success using a Flint 2 with the subject DSL modem. I am stuck with CenturyLink as my least-bad ISP option for a while, at least until the new fiber ISP comes online (no idea when that will happen).

Thanks!

The problem you quoted for a long time should have been repaired or there are no problems on Flint 2, but the ISP modem is unstable.
And you mentioned that the PPPoE is not in the router.
