I installed the Flint 2 router about a month ago, impressed by the positive reviews online, but I haven't gotten to know it yet. It seems like my old, cheap router from the ISP is better. I'm a complete novice, and for me, it's enough that the router works well without any special demands. I dont use a vpn, and the firmware is 4.8.1. Had same problems with 4.7.7 too.
Problems:
When setting custom filter lists, AdGuardHome freezes the router, even though looking at the statistics, the CPU is running at 5% and the RAM usage never exceeds 50%. So I have to keep it unfiltered only with Quad9 DNS, because without them, all pages load slowly only after only 4-5 seconds... and I have a 2.5GB fiber connection with 3ms latency.
Every time I run qbittorrent, the LAN connection freezes for 3-4 minutes, then stabilizes again. And no, it's not a torrent client issue, because it worked perfectly with my previous router, even though the settings are underpowered. And no, is not a port/cable issue too, because i have also treid a usbc/ethernet adapater with new cable, same problem. Again, the router's CPU and RAM don't experience any unusual usage spikes. FURTHERMORE, even though I download at 50Mbps with qbittorrent and upload at 10Mbps,internet browsing is slower, and I have a 2.5GB/1GB connection.
My Android TV box randomly disconnects from the router's 5GHz Wi-Fi. (After 1-2 hours) I have to restart it, and then it works again. This never happened with my previous router.
Is my device defective or what? not impressed for the product at all, and i’m actually considering to change brand-router. It is like lagging, having memomy leak or something. For sure is not normal.
Regarding this issue, please run the following command in CMD on your Windows computer and share the results with us.
This will help us determine whether the bottleneck is caused by AdGuard Home taking too long to process DNS requests.
A sudden increase in the number of network connections can sometimes cause temporary freezes, even on high-performance hardware.
To help us confirm if this is the cause, could you please tell us if you are running a large number of torrents at once?
When the freezer occurs, please run the following command multiple times and share the output with us. This will count the number of established connections.
netstat -ano | find /c "ESTABLISHED"
To investigate this issue further, please export the router's log after the disconnection occurs.
You can then send the log to us via a private message.
