Flint 2 VPN problems with Amazon devices

Hello, I have 2 Amazon Echo speakers, both of which are excluded via the VPN policy (based on the client device). So that both devices should “not” use VPN.

The funny thing is: without the VPN turned on, the devices work wonderfully.

If I switch on Nordvpn-VPN (but devices are “excluded” from the VPN), they work.

If I turn off Nordvpn and turn on Surfshark VPN, both speakers immediately tell me when I ask them something that there is no internet connection and nothing works.

Even restarting all devices doesn't help. Only when I deactivate Surfshark again does it work again immediately.

Why does Nordvpn and Surfshark not work???

or even better if the Amazon device is excluded from the VPN why does it still have an impact??

I had this same problem with SurfShark and Mullvad. It was something to do with scrambled DNS settings. My only remedy was to reset the firmware.

I'm doing it for the third time

Make sure to not use the VPN DNS.

Make sure to enable Allow Custom DNS to Override VPN DNS inside NETWORK -> DNS

Hi everyone, I've been away for a while and am starting again.
I have a Flint 2 with 4.7.0, and after numerous settings, it's running very well, except for one small issue where I can't find the cause.
I've tried various configurations, but unfortunately without success. There are minor issues without a VPN.

Different firmware
Different VPN servers and providers
Different Wi-Fi frequencies
Factory reset
Amazon Echo reset
Different DNS
Overwriting the clients' DNS settings
and numerous other things.

I have several Amazon Echo devices, all of which have been assigned an IP address (but I've also tested without). I've tested two different VPN providers (each with WireGuard, nothing else is up for discussion) with the same problem.

When I enable the VPN, only the Amazon Echo devices lose their connection to the router and no longer have an internet connection. All Amazon Echo devices have been properly excluded in the VPN policy, but they still lose their connection when the VPN is enabled (absolutely no issues with other devices). If I turn off the VPN, they work again immediately. I've also tried different DNS settings, but that didn't help either.
The question I'm asking myself is why this only happens on these devices.

Do you use "Block non-VPN connection"?

No, it's off.

I've also noticed that this only happens with Wireguard. There's currently no problem with OpenVPN. Unfortunately, OpenVPN isn't fast enough, so I want to find out what's wrong.

Which VPN provider do you use?

I am running Mullvad and everything works totally fine with each of my Amazon Echo / Fire devices.

I've tested NordVPN and Surfshark. Strangely, the problem only occurs with Wireguard, but it doesn't matter which provider you choose.

Don't you have VPN traffic enabled or disabled?

Thought.
I was playing with tablet and it seems that it has it's own dns entry that can't easily be fooled.

I solved the problems with my Amazon Echo devices upgrading to the latest beta 4.7.4

I tried it and it's even worse. The WiFi breaks down permanently and everything

Ow boy... Maybe a clean installation?

Yes, absolutely. A fresh installation, with no legacy issues. Even the Amazon Echo was reset. I do a clean install with every installation to avoid any legacy issues.

Ok tell me the exactly problem so I can test, I have 5 echo devices, 2 echo show 5 1st gen, 2 echo dot 2nd gen and 1 echo dot 3rd gen. I had issues from firmware 4.6.4 to 4.7.0 (speed issues) and now I have no more issues with the 4.7.4 beta.
