Just purchased the Flint 2 to replace my TP-Link BE95 simply because of the extra VPN capabilities. I’m currently getting these speeds on my 1Gig connection. I do typically get a bit more without the VPN but I’m super happy with what it is achieving.
My question is, why are newly released and pending release products not also supporting these speeds, ie the Flint 3/e.
Hi,
Thank you for your continued support of GL.iNet products.
The CPU performance of the Flint 3e is slightly lower than that of the Flint 2e, so its VPN performance may be lower, though we believe it remains sufficient for typical home use. As an iterative revision of Flint 3, Flint 3e retains the same chipset.
That said, both Flint 3 and Flint 3e provide clear advantages in other areas, including faster Wi-Fi speeds and additional 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports.
Rest assured, we will continue introducing more powerful Wi-Fi 7 devices in the future. Please stay tuned.
Faster WiFi doesn’t matter much if the CPU isn’t sufficient enough to supply adequate VPN speeds without bottlenecking it.
