Flint 2 - Wan Failover to USB Modem NOT working

Hello,

I have been struggling with this for some time now - exhausted all my internet and forum search options as anyone on this forum seems to also come to a dead end.

I have Flint 2 with cable internet connected to the WAN ethernet port. I want to use this as the main internet source. Occasionally our service drops out for a few minutes and often times during the middle of important remote work that my wife does.

We have acquired an LTE USB modem to work as a back up.

I have it plugged into the USB port and it acquires connection without issue.

The problem becomes when I am trying to use the Flint to failover to the LTE modem when the cable service drops out.

No matter what Multi-WAN settings I use it seems that the ONLY time the router will switch is when the ethernet cable is unplugged from the WAN port.

When I test via unplugging the coax cable running into the cable modem - the router will simply not switch to the LTE tethering.

Unsure where to go from here, please help!

Thanks!

Im not sure what's wrong with you setup but I'm being using this one Inseego USB8 4G LTE Global USB for years with differents GL routers and always works flawless.

This it's my multiwan settings at the moment:

I'm using 4.6.6-op24 at the moment :call_me_hand:

Amazingly - now it works!

What I will say is that I had pretty much the EXACT same settings as you with one difference:

For my backup USB MODEM WAN I had not enabled "Interface Status Track" - because by the very definition I wanted the router to assume it had internet access if it was plugged it - which is reasonable. Not sure why it wouldn't work on that setting but never the less it is working now.

Thank you!
