Flint 2 web UI not accepting correct password

Hi everyone, I just bought a Flint 2 router. I am not sure if this is a known issue, but whenever I try to login to the web UI at http://192.168.8.1/, I am immediately prompted with “Too many failed login attempts, please try again in X seconds.” even though I haven’t had any previous failed attempts.

I’d say the login works randomly and about every 30th try it logs me in but once I log out it is a struggle to log back in again. I am 100% certain the password is correct because I copy the password from my password manager and I am able to paste it into luci and ssh to log in to both and it works perfectly.

I’ve had the router for less than 24 hrs and I don’t have any crazy setups on it that would cause this issue. All I did was plug it in, go through the set up screen, then I logged into my tailscale, enabled adguard home, and installed luci. I tried searching for answers but I haven’t found much that is able to solve this issue….I am out of ideas if anyone can help me out?

Thanks !

Hi

This behavior is a security feature of the router.
After ten failed login attempts, all further login attempts from any source are blocked for 600 seconds.

If you were not the one attempting to log in, this may indicate that someone is trying to brute-force your router’s password.

Please check the following:

  1. Is your router accessible from the public internet with its WebUI port exposed (default ports: 80 or 443)?
  2. Do you have any untrusted devices or connections on your Tailscale network or your Wi-Fi/LAN network?

When you encounter this reminder, you can clear the countdown by restarting your router.
