Really frustrated that I can’t get the router to connect to the NBN.
The TP Link router isn’t giving me the range, so I opted for Flint 2 but just cannot get it to work. I’ve tried the WAN port and the LAN port, but no joy.
These things are usually plug a play, but not this one.
What is NBN?
Australia's National Broadband Network (I think), I'm guessing it will be FTTP or some kind of VDSL depending on the area.
It’s the national broadband network, delivered either by cable or satellite.
Not technical so can’t supply detail.
After Flint 2's WAN is connected to the NBN Modem's LAN, what is displayed on the INTERNET page of Flint2?
If the Ethernet 1 does not any info, please PM me the syslog of the Flint 2.
Maybe some research is needed for your ISP connection. It could be possible your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is requiring authorisation or maybe it's requiring a specific VLAN ID in order to connect successfully.
Maybe worth listing some things you have tried / the typology and the ISP you are connecting to.
Contact your ISP - some will register your your routers Mac address and won't reconnect right away when you change your router. Failing that you can probably just unplug it and wait half an hour or so.
Thanks all. It appears that the I have to set the modem to PPPoE and enter username and password.
Thanks all.
Hi, which ISP are you with? I am about to purchase the Flint 2 so want to be sure that it's compatible with my NBN internet connection. My connection uses FTTP.
My ISP uses a Dynamic connection so no username and password is required. I am with Superloop.
It should be compatible as it worked with my friend's Brume 2 when I last tested but want to be sure.
Thanks
We are with TPG still haven’t got mine to work. More issues with access rather than the router.
Flint2 works with dynamic ip no problem. I am with Leaptel on Fttp with the same setup.
Enjoy
