I have a question for the experts. I been using my Flint 2 since it was first available. I'm using the latest official stable GLinet build. I have 3 Wireguard configuration files uploaded to this router. The setup is standard / Policy Mode / Kill Switch + Enhanced Kill Switch / All Targets to All Devices. Very standard.
My question . I just recently noticed my VPN server IP's switching automatically from one server to another. Is this behaviour normal? I never seen it operate this way before.
Sometimes servers go offline for any reason, that's why it's a good idea to have several servers on the same profile so your connection can bounce from server to server if something changes
Thanks for the reply. I noticed that I was probably not using the most optimal setting the latest firmware provided so I applied the following changes and please let me know what you think.
Instead of only having 1 profile active, I added a second profile. So now I have the physically closest Wireguard server set for priority 1 and the one far away to set priority 2. All have the same settings, kill switch etc. Both VPN connections are active as well as having the enhanced kill switch setting turned on. So if I understand this correctly, if VPN server on priority 1 goes down for some reason, VPN server on priority two will route the traffic automatically? If so, how long does it take for the switch to happen?
The switch most of time it's really quick but sometimes for whatever reason takes a minute, I don't see a issue with your setup but I have it more simple than that and never have issues.
I have just one profile with "all'" the servers of my closest location "inside" (12) so they can "bounce" between them seamlessly
