I am new here and just two days of exp with Openwrt. I currently have it on a pc working alright and speeds are great. It is a learning curve from pfsense just like anything else.
I heard that Flint 2 is a great device with awesome wireguard client speeds that would be comparable to my pc. I also heard that is easier to use then a full blown Openwrt.
I would like two create the following.
Default WAN To ISP with QUAD 9 HTTPS over Dns
Mullvad to about 5 devices that have static IP's
3.VPS have also about 5 devices connected to VPS.
I will not have a wireguard server and if I needed something like that i would use tailscale on a single device on my network.
Does anyone have a setup like this that you could possibly share steps and screenshots?
Your help is appreciated and gearing up as this Flint 2 is coming tomorrow and if i could get this setup working I will buy another and give it to my brother.
Lastly, concerns I've notice some post that the AP on the device is causes system slow downs if that is still the case could I use Flint 2 as a router and plug in my own AP?
This demand is not very clear. Mullvad is the VPN provider, and the Flint 2 support to connect the Mullvad via that VPN profiles, the static IP is following the profile, if the profile belongs to have static IP, so the VPN tunnel address is static IP.
As well as like 2, the demand is not very clear.
AP mode will not cause system slow downs, please let me know if the GL firmware has any issue occurs.
I rread that on Openwrt you need to either have static ip' or you of mac address to associate to a specific tunnel (interface). I need to connect to two different vpn providers at the same time. Some devices connect to one while others connect to the other. If either goes down no internet on those. Some of local devices will not you either vpn they will be using ISP but woukd be using QUAD 9 tls over dns or HTTPS over dns.
One vpn is mullvad while the other I will be connecting to a Debian VPN server that generated a wireguard config file. I hope this is clear now.
Some older Devices only find the 2.4 wifi if it use WPA2-PSK.
I have on older Travelmate-Laptop and a new WIFI-Airconditioner in the Holiday-Appartment but both only hook up with WIFI under WPK-PSK. If i change that to 11/a/n/ac/ax none device will connect.
