Flint 2 Won’t Connect to TPG NBN – “No Cable Detected”

Hi

This appears to be an Ethernet connection issue between the Flint 2 and your NBN device.

Please work through the steps below:

  1. Test the same Ethernet cable and port with another device (for example, a PC) to confirm the NBN modem is providing a valid link.

  2. Try a different Ethernet cable, including the original cable that came with the Flint 2.

  3. If possible, place an unmanaged switch between the Flint 2 and the NBN modem. This can help rule out Ethernet auto-negotiation compatibility issues.

  4. As a workaround, switch LAN 2 to WAN mode and connect the NBN modem to LAN 2, following this guide:
    GL-MT6000 (Flint2) How change LAN2 - LAN5 port to WAN - #28 by bruce

  5. If the WAN link is still not detected, reconnect the modem to the WAN port and run the following command via SSH to force link parameters:

ethtool -s eth1 speed 1000 duplex full autoneg off

If none of the above resolves the issue, please export the system logs and send them to us via PM so we can analyze the problem in more detail.
