Flint 3 and Virgin Media Super Hub 5

Hi all,

Purchased a Flint 3 to replace my Netgear R8000P of 10years old which has been rock solid.

I have a 1GB connection with Virgin Media UK using the Super Hub 5 and getting 950mb on my Netgear - wired connection.

Swapped the Netgear with Flint 3 and experiencing a host of issues from poor wired speed - max I am able to get now is 880mb

WiFi is terrible - Using my iPhone 7 Pro Max right next to the Flint 3 I get 1140mb down, but moving 10m away it drops to 100mb down.

The whole web experience doesn’t feel smooth as before compared to my Netgear.

I have seen the latest beta version 4.8.2 GL.iNet download center

fixes compatibility issues with the Super Hub 5.

Before I install this, is there anything I should be aware of regarding this beta software?

How can I also take a full back up of my current set up before installing it?

Thanks

JD

Hi

The backup file can be generated via:
Luci → System → Backup / Flash Firmware.

If there are other custom scripts/files that need to be backed up, you can add them to the Configuration.

Creating a backup file and writing down the current firmware version should suffice.

If you encounter any issues with the beta firmware, you can always revert to the current version and import the backup file, avoiding reconfiguring everything.
