I set my Flint 3 WiFi as hidden( no matter 2.4G, 5G, 6G and MLO), I couldn’t be automatically connected. I have iPhone 14 Pro Max!
Hiding your SSID causes connection issues AND actually makes you less secure. When you leave your home, your phone will constantly shout your home router’s name everywhere you go.
You can't hide your BSSID (AP MAC address). That's all a “hacker" would need to brute force your Wi-Fi network. A process that would take time to accomplish.
Hi
This is a widely known issue affecting Apple devices, including iPhones and macOS systems.
When a router’s Wi-Fi network is configured as hidden, the client device (such as an iPhone) must first send a probe request containing the hidden SSID.
Only then will the router respond with the necessary information to establish a connection.
In certain cases—such as after turning Wi-Fi off and on again—iPhones may fail to send this probe request, preventing them from automatically reconnecting to hidden Wi-Fi networks.
Refer: Huawei’s knowledge base article.
As RBzee mentioned, hiding a Wi-Fi network now provides little to no security benefit and is generally not recommended.
Thank you for your information. Great to know it
