Hello, I have a bug to report. I recently set up a Flint 3 (firmware 4.9.0).
I configured 2.4/5/6GHz networks + one IoT network. Then I noticed ipv6 was off by default so I turned it on. (not sure if order matters for reproducing)
I noticed clients on my LAN were not getting ipv6 addresses. The log had messages like:
odhcpd[21005]: A default route is present but there is no public prefix on lan thus we don't announce a default route by overriding ra_lifetime!
NAT6 did work, but I wanted native. Eventually I sshd in and figured out the issue.
ifstatus wan6 revealed:
"ipv6-prefix": [
{
"address": "XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:X::",
"mask": 64,
"preferred": 79578,
"valid": 79578,
"class": "wan6",
"assigned": {
"iot": {
"address": "XXXX:XXXX:XXXX:X::",
"mask": 64
}
}
}
],
This assignment did not go away even if I changed IPv6 mode to NAT. Disabling the IoT network in the webui then running ifdown wan6; ifup wan6 released the assignment. Then I was able to enable IPv6 native mode.
I'm not sure what the intended behavior of the IoT network is. I assumed it was supposed to be like the guest network and use NAT6. Maybe I need a /56 block to use the IOT network?
Hopefully this helps other users who are confused. The webui wasn't very helpful.
