Flint 3e / Slate 7 Pro Combi and Obfuscation

I purchased the Flint 3e & Slate 7 Pro because of the obfuscation capability. Not solely, but it was a major factor.

So, before I return them to Amazon, I was hoping somebody might know the secret of how to get them to work together.

The Flint 3e is on firmware 4.9.0 and the Slate 7 Pro is on 4.11.0 (Beta) so it should work. In fact, if I install AmneziaWG on my fone and use the generated profile from the Flint 3e I can connect. The Slate 7 Pro though, refuses to connect. The log is not much use, at least to me;

Am I missing something obvious or something that is not in the docs? Any help appreciated.

Cheers,
Mike.

Hi,

To help us narrow down the cause, could you please help to check the following:

  1. Are the Slate 7 Pro and your phone using the same AmneziaWG client profile?

  2. Could you please create a new client profile on the Flint 3e for the Slate 7 Pro, import it into the Slate 7 Pro, and test the connection again?

  3. If the separate profile still cannot connect, could you please disable obfuscation and check whether the Slate 7 Pro can connect using a standard WireGuard profile?

  4. The log shows that wgclient1 encountered an invalid argument while applying the interface configuration.
    If possible, could you send us the AmneziaWG profile that is not working properly via private message so we can check the parameters? Please remove any keys or other sensitive information before sending it.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

How to send private messages:

Hello,

Thanks for the reply but I've packaged them up for return to Amazon now ans ordered a couple of proper routers. I needed this to work by the end of the month.

In answer to your questions though;

All client profiles were generated on the Flint 3e. When used on my phone, the profile (with obfuscated params) connected without problem, using the AmneziaWG android app.

The Slate 7 Pro refused to connect using the profile (with obfuscated params) imported from the Flint 3e. The log is in my original post.

The Slate 7 Pro would connect correctly without obfuscation enabled using another profile.

As a matter of interest, I checked if the Slate 7 Pro 'server' generated V2 params and it did.

I will attach the problem profile in a private message, as requested.

Regards,

Mike.
