I have several IOT devices including a soundbar and a SONOS. Upon rebooting the router both of these devices become unavailable on the network. A hard reset of the soundbar is required which then restores connectivity.
The Sonos has to be completely re-paired every time. I have isolated the issue to the Flint 4 as I switched back to Flint 2 and they persist as available on the network.
all the devices are sitting on the same subnet / VLAN in both configurations.
On FLINT 4 they work initially after pairing and stay available until router reboot and then disappear from the network and do not reconnect. They show as ‘offline’ under WiFi clients.
Not sure if this will help, but I have a Flint 3 and had multiple IoT devices drop on reboot. I found that when I switched the “Enable Randomized BSSID” to off, they re-connected after every reboot. I only turned this feature off my my 2.4 IoT network since some of the devices I have on it were the only devices having this issue.
Disabling Randomized BSSID would indeed be a useful comparison test.
If the issue still occurs after disabling Randomized BSSID , could you please export the system logs after the affected devices fail to reconnect and send them to us via private message?
If possible, please also provide the MAC addresses of the affected devices so that we can more accurately identify the relevant connection records in the logs.
Hi I specifically set up the IOT network and disabled BSSID, the same behaviour was exhibited after switching channels from 149 to 48. Theatre soundbar lost connection to network and could not longer be found in app or spotify until removing and reinserting power cable.
@charles2 please also note overnight the soundbar has lost its connection again despite no reboot or radio changes. Simply from going to sleep and waking up it has lost its connection.
From the previous logs, we can see that both the Theatre and Sonos devices were able to associate with the Flint 4, complete the WPA handshake, and obtain an IP address successfully.
We also noticed that the Sonos device itself sent Disassociation/Deauthentication requests to the router several times, and then reconnected again shortly afterwards.
Please go ahead with the static IP and let us know whether it helps the devices reconnect normally after the Flint 4 is rebooted.
If the issue persists, please after restart the router, try reconnecting the affected device a few times, and then export the logs and send them to us for further analysis.
Hey Charles, FYI - this issue appears to have been resolved by 4.11 beta 3
After doing a clean upgrade, I reconfigured with teh same SSID and Password… the soundbar immediately reconnected itself and even without setting a static lease or the broadcast flag, it appears to have survived several router bounces whilst I have been reconfiguring my network environment, if the behaviour returns I will report back, but it might be worth looking at what in 4.11 could have resolved this behaviour as it would indiciate there was indeed some sort of bug in 4.9 / Op21 build?
