Im new to GL.iNet routers but im really pleased with my flint 4 so far after moving from an Asus BE86u. Im trying to learn some of the more advanced stuff but im still a bit new to more complex stuff like luci or SSH so please forgive me if this seems an obvious question. Im on V 4.11 beta1 and ive been trying to set up vlans to segregate my network. So far so good. I have my main and IoT seperated like I want, however devices on the IoT network can’t see each other. I only have things like google home devices and tapo cameras on the IoT. So they need to talk to each other but i cant cast to other speakers, or view my cameras on my google display. If I disable AP isolation, then it all works fine but then it can see stuff on my main netowork defating the point of having them segregated. Is there a setting i missing that can allow just the devices on the IoT network to talk to each other?
AP Isolation should be disabled for the IoT network. That option isolates clients from other clients on the same network; it is not what separates the IoT subnet from your main subnet. In firmware 4.11, go to Admin Panel → Network → Subnet / LAN, edit the IoT/VLAN network, and turn off AP Isolation. The built-in IoT Network should still remain separated from the primary network.
If IoT clients can then directly reach devices on the main subnet, the custom VLAN likely has forwarding to the main/LAN network enabled. Confirm whether you created a custom VLAN or are using the built-in IoT Network, as the corrective setting differs. Also note that casting from a phone on the main network to a speaker on IoT requires cross-subnet discovery such as mDNS; that is separate from allowing two devices within IoT to communicate.

ok, that clears it up. Was trying to make my own networks. Connected devices to the built in IoT network and I can tell speakers to play on all and it works. Also tested and made sure the main IoT are segregated like i want. Thanks
I have the IoT WiFi enabled but I would still like to be able to access the admin panel of the device on the IoT (A solar inverter) - is that possible from the main LAN or do I have to connect to the IoT WLAN to do that? I thought I would be able to connect to devices on the IoT WLAN although it is a VLAN.
