I pre-ordered the Flint 4 end of August for a price of €261.99. It was delivered for free from Germany to my home in Switzerland on 10 September, so far so good, expect I had to pay some €40 import duty which I somewhat expected. Upon installation, the router didn’t recognize my ISP’s ONU SFP+ module which rendered it useless for me and I didn’t want to waste time troubleshooting. Hence I decided to make use of the “30-Day Money Back Guarantee (Any Reason Return)”. Well turns out the vendor wants to force me to pay €94 shipment fee for the return as apparently only China can handle a return from Switzerland … So, I basically would have to fork up 30% of the purchase price to return the item which is honestly a joke, since they were very well able to ship it from Germany to Switzerland without issues.
Customer support didn’t offer any cheaper way out and insisted that this is the only way, which is utterly disappointing.
So beware and factor this into your purchasing decision. The 30 days might look good and tempting but the reality is very different.
