I have been having a strange issue ever since setting up my Flint in access point mode for use with my OpenWrt One router (same SSID, same security, password, Wi-Fi mode, etc). Whenever my devices roam from the One to the Flint over Wi-Fi, the client says it’s connected to the AP, but I can’t connect to the internet or even open the router interface. In order to fix the issue, I need to reboot the Flint. Then, it will work. I haven’t had any issues when devices roam from the Flint to the One.
This issue is reproducible with multiple client devices of different operating systems. I have tried resetting the Flint to factory defaults, which did not help. The One is very new and the only changes I’ve made from the defaults are setting a couple static IPs and port forwards, adding a guest network according to the OpenWrt docs, and installing/enabling the adblock app. I also changed the subnet from the default 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.8.1. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
I attempted and failed to install vanilla openwrt, bricked the device, reflashed GL-iNet firmware, and now it seems to work for some reason. I’ll update this if I start running into issues again.
This does look interesting since it sounds like it would allow devices on the main network to communicate with the IoT devices one way? Don’t think I need that functionality though.
