Hi, I saw that an issue has been confirmed where the latest update causes slow VPN speed despite being the first version to support packet acceleration, it was said that this bug would be patched in the future, is there any ETA of when this will be? Do we have to wait for a whole new version to come out (which will take several months) or will this be patched and uploaded sooner? Thanks
Anybody?
Hello,
Please SSH to the router, and try executing the commands, to see if the VPN speed has improvement:
rm -f /etc/hotplug.d/net/40-no-gro
sync
reboot
Thanks.
Sorry but I don't know how to SSH into it, and I only have an android tablet
On Android you can use an app like this:
And then connect to the IP you also use in the browser to go to your router login. And the credentials in SSH is the same except the user is "root".
And when you are logged in via SSH follow the instructions Bruce gave you above.
Your GL-AX1800 has 1GBps LAN ports. It's highly suspicious that your box only connects at 100 MBps and loses the connection.
Version 4.7.0 generally has speed issues.
I almost called my ISP thinking there was a problem, but then I remembered the issues started right after the update.
I have a 1 Gbps uplink, and the router is connected via cable to the modem.
After the update, speeds wouldn’t go above 200 Mbps, even with a wired connection to the router.
Removing /etc/hotplug.d/net/40-no-gro didn’t help.
I rolled back to 4.6.11 and everything went back to normal — speeds are back to ~1 Gbps.
