After upgrading from 4.4.x to 4.5, etc, device IP randomly started changing. I set DHCP range to x.x.x.100-150 however IP addresses were randomly assigned (x.x.x.1, x.x.x.2, and x.x.x.192 etc). All communications were blocked on these devices
edit1: Once I put an address in LAN \ Reserved IP section, I think IP address should immediately Change to specified reserved address.
On Client’s page \ Actions \ Modify should provide option to Change IP address (and put in LAN\ Reserved section automatically).
I don't know what is going on,.. some device IP address changes outside of DHCP range and even reserving device mac with specific IP address doesn't work. These are NOT static devices,.. they rely on DHCP. All this started after I upgraded to 4.5 then 4.5.16 (current)
I've decreased lease time to 2 minutes (to check),.. but this still doesn't explain how device IPs are randomly changing.
I've set IP range from 192.168.0.101 to 192.168.0.145
I've given reserve IP addresses to some device 192.168.0.120 onwards,..
all the IP addresses below 192.168.0.101 are devices with static IPs
Some device IPs got changed into 192.168.0.1, 192.168.0.4 (which doesn't make sense as range is set between 192.168.0.101 to 145
As it is sometimes time consuming to copy and paste every MAC, it would be helpful to have an 'add' button.
Something like:
Hostname
MAC
IP
Action
HostLama
AA:BB:CC:DD:11:22:33:44
192.168.0.10
Delete Lease Add to Static
HostAdmon
AA:BB:CC:DD:11:22:44:55
192.168.0.20
Delete Lease Add to Static
HostLupusE
AA:BB:CC:DD:11:22:55:66
192.168.0.21
Delete Lease Add to Static
PiHole has a great interface, even works on mobile. If you click on 'to static' the dialog below the table is prefilled and you can adjust the IP and host name before confirm. Make sense at Amazon Echo with their various naming schema.
