So, for quite some time I had 4.7.0 on my Flint, without realizing the version has been pulled. I had no issues though… I then flashed the latest stable 4.6.8 and noticed the router resetting sometimes.
I used the router last time a month ago at a hotel and it worked. Today I came into a hotel again and set up everything and the router was reset again.
I am certain the reset button has not been pressed. So that would mean the router is now unstable meaning resetting sometimes but working fine after it has been set up again.
What should I do? I normally install stable only because I do not want to update that often and not deal with issues… I the now 4.7.0 firmware file still somewhere to be found? Should I go back to the pulled 4.7.0?
I'd flash via U-boot & reset it to stock on whatever was the last stable firmware released. Clear it all out as if it just came out of the box. Make a backup in LuCI -> System -> Backup / Flash firmware when it's all set up.
Please try to install the v4.8.2 firmware for the Flint:
If router firmware downgrading from a higher version to a lower version (for example 4.7.0 > 4.6.8), please do not keep settings when downgrading, or manually reset firmware after the router has completed the lower firmware installation.
