Flint2 - Cannot Access Admin/Config on Initial Setup

Just getting setup for the first time today. Gateway is an ATT BGW320 set to passthrough. Everything working fine with older TPLink router setup.

Plug in Flint2 and I can immediately access Wifi on it via the default settings printed on the device. However, 192.168.8.1 is timing out via Firefox and Chromium. Connected PC directly to Flint2 via LAN and same. Outbound connectivity is fine via wireless or ethernet but unable to access/change any settings on the Flint2. ‘arp’ call shows PC is seeing the Flint2 at 192.168.8.1

Gateway to Flint2 is via the patch cable that shipped with Flint2. Tried 2 different patch cables for Flint2 to PC, so don’t think that is the issue. Any suggestions? I tried the ‘reset’ button, no effect, should still be at factory settings in any case.

Thank you. I should not have been connected to gateway. That is very sensible default config requiring user to set password. All set for now.
