I noticed I can enter a vlan when setup flint2. I recently invested in a firewall and my flint2 seats behind the firewall as a vpn router. Any way to have main (private) lan on one vlan and the guest network on a different vlan. I only do vpn on my guest network. And I would like to use the private side as a repeater for main vlan
Screenshots please of said vlan config page pls
This video is in English, and it’s a good tutorial on VLANs for the OpenWRT version 21 that runs on the Flint 2 out of the box.
you will see when configure Flint2 as router you can modify Ethernet 1
but i would like to be able to break out my Main network and Guest network into different vlans
Those screenshots are of the ETH1 WAN port which has nothing to do with the LAN or Guest networks since that port is logically outside the devices firewall while the LAN and Guest networks are inside the devices firewall.
To setup VLANs for the LAN and Guest networks, you’ll need to use the Advanced GUI on the GL.iNet router.
Also, if your router is not running the newer OP24 firmware version which I’ve heard natively shows the br-guest bridge device now, then you’ll need to manually expose the br-guest bridge device via SSH by changing the /etc/config/network file to add the br-guest bridge as a standalone bridge device, and making the Guest Interface use the br-guest bridge instead of being the br-guest bridge itself. Then the rest of the configuration for VLANs and Tagging/Untagging them to the physical LAN ports they need to traverse can be done in the Advanced GUI since the br-guest bridge will then available to be configured.
