Fritz!box Wireguard server + Mango M300-v2 router wireguard client

Hi everyone.

I’m féacing some issues with my configuration.
My girlfriend is living in Germany and wants to be able to connect to her work through a German IP, jsut in case.
Thing is that i’m living in France, and i have a Freebox.

We set-up a wireguard VPN on her Fritz!box modem, and i tried to connect the Mango router to it, while connecting it directly in Ethernet here.

I’ve followed this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/fritzbox/comments/19bjb9d/fritzbox_7520_glmt300n_wireguard/

Here is my configuration:

[Interface]
PrivateKey = eFAgyqiQZ.....
Address = 192.168.8.1/24
DNS = 192.168.2.1, 192.168.8.1
MTU = 1420

[Peer]
PublicKey = 3KR01NEw+IkLgrz3......
PresharedKey = duJ3g70MfwQR5B......
AllowedIPs =  0.0.0.0/0
Endpoint = lll.dynamicdns:59826
PersistentKeepalive = 25

And here is the issue i’m facing while connecting

I dont really understand what’s going on.
Thnak you all :slight_smile:

What ISP does your girlfriend use?

She has her internet with Vodafone

Cable or DSL?

If it’s Cable it might be behind CGNAT (so no public IPv4) which will make her device unusable as a wireguard server.

Same can happen with DSL, then it’s called DS-Lite.

Apparently: “DSL Zuhause” → GigaZuhause 16 DSL

She should look into her Fritz!Box dashboard where the IP is shown - maybe there is written something like „Über DS-Lite Tunnel“?

You right. It is like this…

In that case… no chance, I am sorry.

Anything to ask Vodafone to be able to do it ?
Cause i think, even if i’m going for a raspberry running an openvpn server, i’m going to face the same issue ?

Yup. Vodafone is using CGNAT here, you can’t open any ports.

Asking ISP for a public IP might be possible, but since it’s Vodafone …

We tried from her second house in Munich.

Here is what we get here.
No DS-Lite apparently, but still no IPV4… zzz how annoying it is.

No point to change from the box she has in Munich with the other Fritz!box one and try for the VPN, right ?

Nope, won’t help, sorry.

All cheap ISPs (and low speed connections) in Germany do not include a public IPv4.
