From stock 2dbi to 3.5/5dbi antenna

Hi,

I would like to know if my 2 GL-AR300M16-Ext would benefit from a slighly bigger 3.5dbi or 5dbi antenna? I have various distance to cover, changing quite often, and I want something rock-solid.

You’d have to lower the radio power, if you use a more gainful antenna. You could go directional, maybe?

Hey Cal, thanks for your reply.

Well, I’m for mobile rig, so directional won’t be a great idea. I’m more looking for a larger horizontal reach than directional and vertical. I’m curious to see if those little device can go further than 100meters.
