FTP Server on GL.iNet AXT1800 (Slate AX) for Camera File Transfer

Hi everyone,

I'm using the GL.iNet AXT1800 (Slate AX) and would like to set up an FTP server on it to transfer images wirelessly from my Sony A7 IV camera to my laptop (MacBook Pro M3). My goal is to have the camera send files directly to the router via FTP, and then access them from my MacBook.

I would really appreciate some guidance on how to:

  1. Set up an FTP server on the AXT1800 (which software/setup is recommended?).
  2. Ensure stable connectivity between the camera and the router.
  3. Automatically transfer files from the FTP server to a specific folder on my MacBook.

Hello,

  1. You can install third-party plug-in like vsftp to support FTP server. This requires your own configuration.

  2. As long as it is within WiFi coverage, the wireless client will be connected stably.

  3. This require the use of some software, such as FileZilla, etc. This requires your own configuration.

Thanks for your response! I understand that I need to install vsftp and configure it myself. However, since I’m not very experienced with setting up FTP servers on OpenWRT-based routers, I would really appreciate a detailed step-by-step guide on how to:

  1. Install vsftp on the AXT1800.
  2. Configure it properly to receive files from my camera.
  3. Ensure that my MacBook can access the files stored on the router.
  4. (Optional) Automatically move the transferred files to a specific folder on my MacBook.

If you could provide detailed instructions or point me to an existing guide, that would be extremely helpful!
