Hi all
I purchased a GL-A1300 Slate Plus router a few months ago. I’m using it in repeater mode on my home network to give me a separate subnet. Initially it was working fine but after a couple of months I noticed that the blue light on the front started flashing all the time and I had lots of dropped pings in the log. I eventually fixed it by switching off IPv6 on my main router (Asus RT-AC68U) which I had recently switched on. I’m not too bothered as I don’t really need IPv6 at the moment, but I am curious as to why that caused problems. IPv6 is not enabled on the Slate Plus. Anyone have any ideas?
Also - since that issue was fixed I am now seeing the following messages every 9 seconds in the log:
Fri Jun 2 10:35:26 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-STARTED
Fri Jun 2 10:35:26 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS
Fri Jun 2 10:35:35 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-STARTED
Fri Jun 2 10:35:35 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS
Fri Jun 2 10:35:44 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-STARTED
Fri Jun 2 10:35:44 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS
Fri Jun 2 10:35:53 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-STARTED
Fri Jun 2 10:35:53 2023 daemon.info repeater: (/usr/sbin/repeater:470) <3>CTRL-EVENT-SCAN-RESULTS
I haven’t noticed any performance degradation but I’m wondering if it’s normal to see these messages in the log so often? Is there any way I can get rid of them?
Edit: I’m running firmware version 4.2.1.
Edit: I’m connecting to my main router on the 2.4Ghz band and have only enabled the 5Ghz band for clients connecting to the Slate Plus.
Many thanks for any help
