GL-ARM300M16 works but I can't access admin panel

  1. I successfully accessed the admin panel using 192.168.1.8 to set it up.
  2. I changed it to Static and the IP to 10.1.1.106.
  3. Successfully logged into admin panel via 10.1.1.106.
  4. Changed wifi SSID and password.
  5. Tested wifi, works fine.
Then when I tried another menu item in admin panel it would not go there, I refreshed and got ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED message. Now whenever I put 10.1.1.106 in any browser I get the same message. Tried emptying cache, tried different devices.

But the GL-ARM300M16 is working fine, appears in my modem’s connected devices as 10.1.1.106, and can connect to its new wifi SSID.

Why can I no longer access the admin panel?

  1. I successfully accessed the admin panel using 192.168.1.8 to set it up.
I thought it was a typo. The LAN ip is 192.168.8.1 by default.
  1. I changed it to Static and the IP to 10.1.1.106.
Did you change the WAN connection type from DHCP to Static, then assign the IP 10.1.1.106 ?
If so, you are still able to access the router through the LAN ip 192.168.8.1.
If not, you can check the router address by running “ipconfig /all” in the Windows command line, and grep the gateway address.

btw, accessing the router’s web admin page from WAN side is usually disabled by default because of security reason, but from LAN side is always allowed.

  1. You are correct, my typo, sorry

  2. I am trying to connect via the WAN as that is connected to my network. How do I connect via LAN? (I’m using LAN port to connect my TV to the network). Can I use wifi instead to connect to 192.168.1.8?

You can connect via wifi. But you should access 192.168.8.1
