I have a firewall configuration issue that has locked me out of the router. I have tried to get back in using the Failsafe instructions: [OpenWrt Wiki] Failsafe mode, factory reset, and recovery mode, but it's not working. This router only has 2 buttons; The sync button, which I've read doesn't do anything, and the reset button. I've read that sometimes the router will try Failsafe mode using 192.168.8.1, instead of 1.1. Either way, I've followed the instructions in that document and tried both.
Does anyone know if there is a special procedure for this model?
To be clear, I'm only trying to enter Failsafe mode to correct a firewall setting.
I'm NOT trying to reset to factory.
@bruce Would your instructions get me into failsafe mode? Would I have to be powered off, then power on with the reset button held for 8 seconds? Would I need to be connected through ethernet, with a static IP of 192.168.1.2, then I can get SSH access?
There is no "failsafe mode" on GL devices - this might only apply to plain OpenWrt devices.
So if you locked out yourself, factory reset is the way to go.
Or trying to fix it using SSH (or GoodCloud, if connected) - if this is still possible.
Only the LAN is having a problem. Is there a way to specify a particular network through SSH? There are multiple networks configured. I wonder if there is a way to point SSH to another network?
