A picture is worth a thousand words some say… Connected to a Wireguard VPN server over a fibre optic line. All I can say is WoW! ProtonVPN is the VPN I’m using.

For comparison, what were the WireGuard speeds before the firmware upgrade?
I do not work for and I am not directly associated with GL.iNet
The best I got with the stable firmware was around 250 to 300 down and 400 up at most.

Maybe it is due to something else. The Wireguard itself does not have any changes that could increase the speed like this.
I have found sms-forwarding is supported.

It only works with Quectel modems, e.g. EC25, EP06, EG25

The new WireGuard speeds are indeed very good.
The previous WireGuard speeds should have been significantly higher because the GL-AX1800 webpage has been advertising “VPN encryption speed of up to 667Mbp” with a chart showing 500Mbps for WireGuard. Maybe the ProtonVPN server or something else was limiting the previous results.

Mine improved as well especially after I set MTU setting on the Wireguard Client to 1380 instead of the default 1500.
