GL-AX1800 freezing

I have GL-AX1800 (firmware 4.7.0) and I'm experiencing occasional freezes. Sometimes once a day, sometimes more than once, sometimes none.

I'm using router in repeater mode.

What I tried so far (none of this fixed the issue):

  • Reset factory settings.
  • Changed Band Selection from "Auto" to be: 5 GHz, and to be 2.4 GHz.
  • I looked thru logs, but usually when it freezes can't access at all. After reboot it doesn't look anything unusual.

Any suggestions what I should try next?

We are aware of this issue, truly sorry about that.

Please upgrade to v4.8.2 firmware it improves this issue.

Upgraded to 4.8.2 beta1.

Also forgot to mention because of this issue I have set reboot at 3:00am. After update I found ti frozen at 7:00am. Not sure if it rebooted and then froze, or it froze before reboot, and didn't reboot?!

What routers are affected by this issue? Just GL-AX1800 or other model too?

Also is there any ETA for the fix?

My GliNet Beryl just stopped working altogether and havn’et heard any response from tech support after the first initial email.

Only the AX1800 and AXT1800 may have this issue, so we have withdrawn the v4.7.0 firmware of AX/AXT1800.

Does the router AX1800 still problem after upgrading to v4.8.2?

Please export the syslog after the issue is reproduced, and PM to me.

Glad you found my ticket. I’ve sent an update. Router still is not connecting after a few different resets.

After upgrading AX1800 to v4.8.2 firmware, does it also reproduce freeze?
Not keep settings when upgrading is better.
If keep settings when upgrading, please reset firmware after upgrading firmware.

If freezes still reproduce, please share the issue syslog with us. Thanks!
