I have some issues with the combination NordVPN + VPN-Policy based on client Mac.
Actually just 4 devices are configured to use the NordVPN based on Mac.
But it seems that also other devices are affected with this configuration although they are not in the list and somehow don’t go directly to the internet.
Strange enough the baviour is different on different devices:
E.g. when I configure global proxy and I try to open Netflix on my TV it works, but I can’t stream videos from Prime Video as it says it is behind a VPN
When I switch to Mac-based configuration (where the TV is not mentioned) Prime Video works but I can’t start Netflix and Disney anymore …
From my tablet (not in the VPN MAC list) Prime + Netflix is working, but not Disney
From another TV via Fire TV stick (also not in the VPN MAC list): Prime is working, Netflix and Disney not
As mentioned I just want to route the traffice from the configured devices in the Mac list via NordVPN.
All other devices should directly go to the internet.
I am on the latest beta at the moment (4.2.1 release 4)
I resetted the router after reinstalling 4.2.1 release 4 configuring from scratch … actually no difference
Does anybody have some ideas what I can do/check/change?
Are there any other routers in your network besides the AX1800? I’m worried about the network being affected by other routers.
Also, do you have DNS encryption or AD blocking configured?
Using de1076. But mainly because with all the ones from Austria and some of Germany the one or the other streaming provider doesn’t work.
The behaviour is actually the same independent from the server I use
yes, I did already this … same behaviour …
actually I don’t know how I can find out what is happening …
my assumption is that any not-configured MAC should go in and out without using VPN, right?
Yes. How about this: you send us the details including screenshots to our support email and I will ask engineers to have a check. I am afraid there are some settings we didn’t mention
