GL-BE3600 keep rebooting Firmware 4.9.0

My GL-BE3600 Firmware 4.9.0 keeps rebooting

How to reproduce:

  1. Open adguard→DNS blocklists
  2. add as many blocklist as possible(problems starts after 5-7 checkboxes)
  3. Make any even small changes in adGuard like add domain to like
  • add one domain to Custom filtering rules
  • save General settings
    and etc, anything

Current result:
after pressing save button or anything GL-BE3600 goes into 7-10min reboot
even is click block unblock domain and etc
basically even small changes triggering long ass reboot

after reboot for 2-3 min wifi password does recognised

Expected - result: any AdGuard changes doesn’t trigger reboot

FYI i also have new 5G GL.iNet Mudi 7 (GL-E5800) with the same settings and AdGuard on with all max DNS blocklists active and i face no issues at all.

Hi,

Thank you for providing the detailed reproduction steps.

AdGuard Home needs to load and process the blocklist rules in memory, and its memory usage may temporarily increase further when the lists are updated or the configuration is applied.

The GL-BE3600 has 1 GB of RAM, while the Mudi 7 has 2 GB. Therefore, the same set of blocklists may work normally on the Mudi 7 because it has more available memory, while the GL-BE3600 may run out of memory during list processing and reboot.

Could you please try reducing the number of blocklists enabled in AdGuard Home and check whether the router remains stable?
Some blocklists may contain similar or overlapping filtering rules, so you can keep only the lists that are most relevant to your needs.

also remove this
HaGeZi's Normal Blocklist
HaGeZi's Pro++ Blocklist

is is all copy of “HaGeZi's Ultimate Blocklist”

https://adguardteam.github.io/HostlistsRegistry/assets/filter_34.txt

My GL-BE3600 shows 512mb of RAM for some reason

AdGuard DNS filter
AdGuard DNS Popup Hosts filter
OISD Blocklist Small
HaGeZi's Normal Blocklist
HaGeZi's Pro Blocklist
HaGeZi's Pro++ Blocklist
HaGeZi's Ultimate Blocklist
HaGeZi's Badware Hoster Blocklist
CHN: anti-AD

Should not be used as it is all double of other lists

Also GL-BE3600 keep cannot handle large lists like
HaGeZi's Threat Intelligence Feeds - filter_44.txt

If i am trying to add it the router simply goes into reboot and doesn’t save the settings
this is not good for such expensive mini router - i think you should look into that and fix it

Imho I don't think Beryl 7 will work nice with Adguardhome even with a single list.

The issue is that the wifi drivers take so much memory that by default without adguardhome it is already 70%.

I find 70% risky for other list based programs/plugins.
